Background
This course is designed for individuals working within electrical related industries, including heating engineers. Its primary aim is to ensure learners have a thorough understanding of, and are able to correctly apply, the industry’s Safe Working Procedure for the Isolation of Electrical Supplies. The course content is based on the requirements set out in the Electricity at Work Regulations and BS 7671.
When carrying out any electrical work, regardless of the size or scope of the installation, it is essential that operatives follow the correct isolation procedure every time. Doing so helps prevent injury to themselves, other engineers and users while work is in progress. Consistent application of the industry standard procedure has been proven to reduce the risk of injury and incidents involving live installations.
This course provides learners with the knowledge and practical skills needed to understand and confidently implement these requirements on site.
Prerequisites
Learners should be employed within the wider building services industry and possess a working knowledge of electrical installations.
Course Assessment
A short practical assessment with some oral questions.
